Reasons for selling PayPal

This time I decided to sell PayPal because I want to switch positions to other companies that I think have more room for growth in the long run. Although selling PayPal has realized a loss of more than 50% this time, I think this kind of loss on paper (that is, what is commonly called unrealized loss) is actually no different from the realized loss. Even if I hold this company that has suffered losses on paper, it does not mean that it will rise back in the future. On the contrary, if I transfer the funds to other companies with better potential, if in the future it is to outperform PayPal as I expected, then the losses realized today are really nothing. As an investor, don’t think that holding on to the stocks of companies that have fallen will surely rise in the end. Instead, you should always think about whether putting your funds into these companies maximizes your future returns? Making your capital work hard enough to make money for you is the key to successful investing.

PayPal’s recent results have been released, and I think it is only a little better than expected. However, since the market has generally already price in the very poor expectations, it has rebounded a little after the results were announced, but it has stabilized now. According to the management’s statement, I think it is difficult to see what profit and interest PayPal will have in the short term. On the contrary, as the management has lowered its outlook again, I am even less confident in the company’s future performance expectations, and I think it may be even worse than the analysis in the future. So, I think under the current general market sentiment, it’s better to switch PayPal’s funds to other companies that I think have more potential when other stocks are down.

Reasons for buying Nvidia, AMD, Meta and TSMC

So, I decided to use PayPal’s funds to buy four companies I have more confidence in, namely Nvidia, AMD, Meta, and TSMC.

The development of Nvidia and AMD is very good, and their product supply has been in short supply for a long time. Although there is news that this situation may change, I think the company’s management has done a very good job. Excellent management can often lead the company to discover new products that are popular in the market. In this regard, I think Nvidia and AMD will continue to seize the market as always.

Meta’s transfer to the Metaverse is relatively uncertain, but it is believed that the future development potential will be huge, and the company’s previous acquisitions of Whatsapp and Instagram have been very successful. In addition, Facebook’s development has always been very smooth, it depends on how Zuckerberg uses this huge social network to develop the metaverse.

TSMC is a large company that monopolizes the global chip manufacturing business. I believe that it will be difficult to be replaced in the future, and the application of chips will only continue to increase in the future, so I am very confident in the future development of this company.

Relatively speaking, I think for a period of time in the future, say five years from now, I think the development of these four companies will run faster than PayPal, which is why I change positions.
