• Quantity: 6 shares
• Bought price: US$209.045
• Commission fee: US$0.69

Reasons for buying Paypal

Paypal announced its unsatisfactory performance for the latest quarter, and its share price plummeted. I bought 3 shares at US$214.25 and US$203.84 each before and during the market time, and they fell by more than 10% at the close. Mainly due to the company’s lowered earnings forecasts for the coming quarter and this year. In fact, the management has previously expressed that the earnings of these quarters will fall due to separation from eBay, but the actual impact may be greater than expected.

On the other hand, it is also possible that rising prices may lead to a decline in public consumption. But I am more optimistic. Domestic consumption accounts for more than half of the US GDP. As long as the US economy develops well, consumption will inevitably keep up and Paypal will also be benefitted.

Some people are worried that Paypal is facing increasingly severe competitive pressures, but I am still relatively confident in Paypal. It can be seen that the company is also constantly seeking breakthroughs and innovative development. In addition, I am also very optimistic that Venmo will be able to apply this good news on the Amazon platform. Although the current price of Paypal may not have fallen to the bottom, I think buying low is definitely much safer than buying high. As long as Paypal can continue to grow and develop, the stock price will surely rise in the future.
