Weekly review
In terms of U.S. stocks, it is the turn of U.S. market to see a large-scale decline this week. Large technology stocks, semiconductor stocks, and growth stocks in my portfolio have all fallen, such as Microsoft Corporation (US stock code: MSFT), Google, Amazon (US stock code: AMZN), Nvidia, AMD, TSMC (US stock code: TSM) and Paypal fell 3.53%, 4.27%, 6.16%, 3.15%, 3.53% and 4.96% respectively. Only Netflix (US stock code: NFLX) performed very well this week, challenging new highs, rising 3.39% throughout the week, and my impression of Netflix is getting better and better. I have been following Money Heist, The Crown, The 100, etc. , And the recent Squid Game, it can be seen that the quality of Netflix’s production is constantly improving, and I personally think it is absolutely world-class. This week, the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield began to rise to a maximum of more than 1.55% and closed at 1.463%, which was a significant rebound from the previous low of nearly 1.2%. The market began to worry about rising inflation expectations, and growth stocks and technology stocks with high valuation have an adverse effect, but it is actually not special news, and the market should have already reflected it. Anyway, I think opportunities are produced from falling prices. This kind of falling can give you the opportunity to increase your position at a lower cost from shareholders without sufficient confidence. I believe that a good company can definitely overcome numerous difficulties and create value for the company with its own capital and technology.
As for Hong Kong stocks, China Merchants Bank (HK stock code: 3968) rebounded quite a lot, rising 6.52% throughout the week. Tencent (HK stock code: 700) and Alibaba almost kept the same price range during the week. Xiaomi performed weakly this week, dropping 3.39% throughout the week.
In terms of options, there is only one China Evergrande (HK stock code: 3333) short put option left in my holdings that is purely speculative. The strike price is HK$2 with expiration on November 29, and it will expire in less than two months. And the price gap between the stock price and the strike price is becoming wider comparing to last week. This is because there were quite a lot of positive news for Evergrande this week. Anyway, it is just a small bet. I didn’t pay too much attention to the situation regarding Evergrande. Let’s see what will happen in these two months.
Concluding figures
Unrealized earning: 29.31%
Cash level: -16.9%
