Operations this week
On July 27, 2021, I opened another short put option of Tencent (HK stock code: 700) with strike price of HK$430 while at the same time I sold all the Teladoc stocks (US stock code: TDOC). See here in detail.
On the other hand, the short put positions of Tencent and Xiaomi (HK stock code: 1810) that I held previously got exercised on July 29 at strike prices of HK$560 and HK$26 as their market prices dropped below the put option strike prices. Comparing with their closing prices of this week HK$479 and HK$25.35, the losses on the book are 14.5% and 2.5% respectively; however, I am still quite confident in the future development of these two companies.

Regarding the US stocks, the announcement of Q2 quarterly results happened last week, AMD(US stock code: AMD) and Tesla (US stock code: TSLA) announced good quarterly results and so their stock prices rose by 15.29% and 6.88% respectively. Conversely, the quarterly results of Amazon(US stock code: AMZN) and Facebook (US stock code: FB) were worse than what analysts expected and they predicted the Q3 growth will be even slower, so the weekly drops were 8.92% and 3.61% respectively.
As for Hong Kong stocks, the market sentiment continuously got worse and the decline intensified. As the market is fearful that the Chinese government will strengthen its control over Chinese stocks, therefore many foreign funds threw all relevant Chinese stocks regardless of their actual business conditions, including Ark investment fund. My Hong Kong stock holdings all fell to a certain extent. Alibaba (HK stock code: 9988), Tencent (HK stock code: 700), China Merchants Bank (HK stock code: 3968) and Xiaomi (HK stock code: 1810) fell 7.89%, 9.79%, 5.73% and 3.8% respectively.
In addition, there are currently four short put options in hand, including Tencent, Palantir (US stock code: PLTR) and two Didi (US stock code: DIDI) with strike prices of HK$430, US$19, US$8 and US$6. The former one will expire on August 30, and the latter three will expire on August 20.
